Walmart Canada invests C$92m in worker pay increases

Walmart Canada is to invest an additional C$92m ($68.39m) in pay increases for hourly retail and frontline workers. The fresh investment comes on top of an initial C$53m in July. The retailer added it is also prioritizing investments in skills training and education offerings at no cost to the associates. In other Walmart Canada news, a warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario is to become the company’s first in Canada to unionize, with Unifor gaining certification from the province’s labor relations board.
